NOLT FINANCE LIMITED (NOLT) is a limited liability company registered under the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. NOLT is engaged in the business of providing credit and fund management services to customers.
The products and services we offer require us to collect Personal Data about our Customers. We are committed to protecting and respecting Customers’ privacy in relation to data collected.
GENERAL
Please read this privacy policy carefully as it sets out the basis on which we collect any personal information from you and how we use it in the operation of the Platform.
Our Customers (investors and borrowers) may be private individuals as well as business entities. In each circumstance, this privacy policy will apply. The term ‘you’ and ‘your’ shall refer to, the individuals as the investor/borrower as well as a director, partner or authorised person of the investing or borrowing entity.
Any changes we may make to this privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated to each Customer by email.
Data Privacy Policy
We collect, process, store, and disclose personally identifiable information (“personal information” or “personal data”) about our customer in order to perform our services, evaluate our marketing activities and offer our products and services.
Categories of Personal Data that NOLT Collects (Information We Collect about Customers)
We collect and process personal data for our own business purposes that may include:
- Identifiers such as a real name, residential address, business address, telephone number, email address, account name, identification number, bank verification number, or other similar identifiers.
- Commercial information, including bank account number, credit data from credit bureaus, statement of account, etc
Purposes For the Collection, Processing, and Use of Personal Data
We collect personal information, store and process your data for the following purposes:
- Register an account for you to enable you use and access the services and products provided by the Company;
- For the management and administration of our business
- To communicate with you in order to provide you with information about our services and products and to help us improve on same.
- To fulfil our legal obligations; in order to comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- To maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Credit Worthiness Checks
We may use the information you provide to us to perform a credit check. In order to do this we may share your information with credit reference agencies. We will use the information we receive from credit reference agencies to:
- assess your application for credit and/or;
- check details on applications for credit and credit related or other facilities
- verify your identity and, the identity of your spouse, partner or other directors/partners but only if they are a party to your application;
- undertake checks for the prevention and detection of crime, fraud and/or money laundering; and
- Verify your identity when you visit the website to protect you from fraud, unauthorized access, and identity theft.
Storage and Retention of Personal Data
Your personal information will be held only as long as you are a NOLT customer, and as statutorily required. We may use personal information in a depersonalized (anonymized or pseudonymised) or aggregated format for the purpose of reviewing and improving our own account acquisition and management processes, analyzing the effectiveness of our solutions, and creating, validating or updating our products and services.
Disclosure of Personal Data – Relationship with Third Parties
Service Providers (vendors; contractors)
We disclose personal information to our service providers who provide technical, operational, or administrative support, but only if the personal information is reasonably necessary and proportionate to provide the services. We will only disclose personal information to service providers who process it pursuant to our instructions. Disclosure to service providers may occur for these purposes:
Undertaking activities to verify or maintain the quality or safety of our software or a service we engage in, and to improve, upgrade, or enhance the software or service; identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality; performing internal research for technological development and demonstration.
Maintaining and servicing accounts, providing customer service, processing or fulfilling transactions, verifying customer information, processing payments or providing similar services on behalf of NOLT or our service providers.
Performing certain corporate functions, such as legal compliance with federal, state, or local laws; exercising and defending legal claims; keeping accounting and tax records; company audits; sales and distribution of our products and services.
We will not sell consumers’ personal information to third parties for their own marketing, advertising, or other purposes. When you use NOLT website to obtain products or services, we shall not share your personal information with third parties beyond what is necessary for that party to perform business activities on our behalf.
You hereby understand and acknowledge that it shall be impossible for NOLT to oversee or monitor the use of any customer’s data shared with third party service providers other than reliance that such service provider shall act with integrity and in accordance with its Agreement with NOLT.
In view of the above risk, NOLT shall not be liable for any breach of privacy as a result of the activity of any third party.
Cooperation With Regulators and Law Enforcement
We may disclose personal information if necessary or appropriate to government agencies, advisors, and other third parties, in order to comply with applicable laws, or protect the rights or property of NOLT and its affiliated companies, or its customers.
We may disclose personal information to comply with civil, criminal, or regulatory inquiries, investigations, subpoenas, or summons by federal, state, or local authorities.
Customers’ Rights
Customers’ rights in relation to the Personal Data that NOLT holds include:
- the right to see a copy of the information we hold about you (with the exception of the assessment of any application for finance or other products);
- where you have actively provided your consent for us to process your Personal Data, the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please note, however, that we may still be entitled to process your Personal Data if we have another legitimate reason (other than consent) for doing so;
- the right to be removed from our mailing lists;
- the right to correct any information we hold about you, and to change any details you have already given us (by contacting us through address on the ‘Contact’ section below);
- the right to request that we erase your Personal Data in certain circumstances. Please note that there may be circumstances where you ask us to erase your Personal Data but we are legally entitled to retain it;
